500,000 LG Electric Ranges Recalled Due to Fire Hazard – Check If Yours Is Affected

Why Are These Ranges Being Recalled?
The recall involves LG Slide-In and Freestanding Electric Ranges with front-mounted knobs. These knobs can be accidentally activated by humans or pets, potentially leading to fires.
Incident Reports:
- The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has received at least 86 reports of unintentional activation.
- Over 28 fires have been linked to these ranges.
- Five fires caused extensive property damage totaling over $340,000.
- At least eight injuries, including burns, have been reported.
- Three fires resulted in pet fatalities.

These LG ranges were sold at major retailers including Best Buy, Costco, The Home Depot, Lowe’s, and other appliance stores nationwide, as well as online at LG.com. The affected models were available for purchase between 2015 and January 2025, with prices ranging from $1,400 to $2,650.
