Check the Dispenser Tube

If the issue involves a water dispenser
that is blocked or sprays water in a way it shouldn’t, then it is
likely that the dispenser tube is the issue. This is the small
plastic tube that goes from the water line to the dispenser in the
door and down to the dispensing assembly. Look at the plastic
end-piece that pours into your glass and make sure it is not damaged,
clogged, bent, or otherwise in need of repair.

Clean Out the Water Lines of Your Fridge

When your issue is related to low
pressure, lack of water, or irregular dispensing, then it could be
that you have a clog. This is likely if there is damage or another
type of flaw in the water line or if the water filter is old. Take a
look at your water line in segments. Check the components that run
water through the water line to see if there is a clog. You can
generally clean out clogs by running a mixture of baking soda, water,
and vinegar through your line.

Inspect Your Water Filter

Water filters are often the cause of
fridge troubles. Every fridge model has its own filter and filter
system. The way filters fit into the socket closes into housing, and
then there are clips into the water lines. If any issues are present
with any of these, the lack of water can be explained. If you have a
water filter that is twisted or clipped, the water flow will not be
even.

Likewise, it is
entirely possible that your water filter is simply too old. If you
have a bad water filter, it can leave an unpleasant taste in the
water. The fact that it stops filtering can also lead to a clog in
the line caused by the minerals that are supposed to be filtered out.
If you have not changed your water filter in the last six months,
then it is likely you need to do so.

Make Sure Your Water Pressure is Right

If you are just getting a trickle out
of your water dispenser then it could be an issue with water
pressure. You can test this at a number of points to track down where
the problem is. Begin at the water line in the wall where water comes
into the dispenser. If there is no water pressure there then this
explains the issue.
